P.I. HELP clinics are personal injury clinics in Salt Lake City and San Antonio that provide state-of-the-art, non-surgical treatments for various injuries related to car accidents. We have written answers to some frequently asked questions about our clinic, and what to do after an accident to help you figure out your next step.

Who should I see first, an attorney or a doctor?

While meeting with a personal injury attorney after a car accident is important, it is crucial that you seek medical attention before you do anything else. The injuries from a car accident can be serious and if your injuries are severe or life-threatening, go straight to the ER to be evaluated. Even if you do not notice any painful symptoms right away, it is beneficial to be evaluated by a specialist. You do not want to take any chances with your health. Additionally, having a recorded doctor’s visit right after your accident can support your injury claim, should you choose to file one.

At P.I. HELP, we can provide you with a referral to a trusted personal injury attorney in the local area.

Can your clinic treat any injury?

Our facilities are equipped to evaluate and treat many types of injuries, but we are not an emergency care center. You should visit a hospital if you or anyone else in the accident is dealing with severe, life-threatening injuries. That being said, our clinics provide treatments for many types of pains and conditions, most commonly whiplash. We have extensive experience assisting those in car accidents and will complete a comprehensive and thorough examination. If your injuries are outside of our scope of practice, we can provide a referral to a facility or recommend another provider to you.

If I don’t win a personal injury lawsuit, will I have to pay the medical bills myself?

Most likely yes. Most insurance plans will cover medical treatments in the event of an accident. However, you should contact your insurance provider to confirm that they will cover chiropractic care and physical rehabilitation. Personal injury protection is also an option that most car insurances provide as well.

Can chiropractic care help with my chronic pain?

Most likely yes! Chiropractic care has proven to be an effective pain management treatment for many types of injuries. Our clinics have helped hundreds of patients who were or have been injured in car accidents with chiropractic treatments alone.

I have experienced headaches after my accident, can this be related?

Yes! Headaches are a common side effect after a car accident. Definitely seek medical attention and treatment, if you have frequent headaches after an accident.

I haven’t had any pain after my accident, do I still need to see a doctor?

Yes. Some injuries do not show symptoms for hours, days, or even weeks after the accident has occurred. A physical examination and imaging can help reveal injuries that have not yet manifested into symptoms. The sooner you start treatment, the sooner your injuries can be addressed and handled properly.

I have a hard time moving after my accident, can you help?

Yes. We can help you regain mobility and range of motion. Through chiropractic care and physical rehabilitation, we can help improve your quality of life.

My car is totaled and I do not have transportation. How will I be able to seek treatment and therapy?

Do not worry, we are here to help in any way we can! Our clinics provide transportation services to those needing to get to and from our clinic for treatment. Nothing should stand in the way of your health and getting the care you need.

Can you handle my personal injury case?

We are experienced with personal injury cases and can refer you to an experienced personal injury attorney. We will provide detailed notes of your injuries, diagnoses and treatment in order to support your case.
